Foster Children

Throughout 2020 Crossroads Rotary dedicated a great deal of its efforts to helping foster children.

We started off a coat and blanket drive with donation sites established at Western Red Brewery, Poulsbo Edward Jones Offices, Liberty Bay Auto, and Les Schwab. We gathered close to 250 coats that we handed over to the Kitsap Foster Care Association.

After hosting the president of the Kitsap Foster Care Association during one of our club meetings, we also learned that many of these children also didn’t have suitcases, duffle bags, or backpacks to move their belongings from home to home. We jumped right in and quickly provided upwards of 275 suitcases and backpacks to the organization.

Crossroads continues to show up to help local area foster children with continued blanket and jacket donations and backpacks and help manage the annual Christmas Giving Tree at Western Red Brewery, where community members are able to pull a child’s name from the tree and donate the exact gift that child asked for.

The club also helps out regularly with clothing donations to the New Beginnings Closet and volunteers with help sorting and folding donated clothes at the New Beginnings location in Bremerton.
